September 2016 Newsletter
Friday 2nd September. Last junior session of the week, we were very busy again, new bowlers now coming every evening. More and more families are now using our facilities which gives our club a great atmosphere.
Tuesday 6th September. Good adult session, Lauren played her first game as a "Skip" and did well.
Semi Final of the pairs played in the evening session tonight, Anthony and Ann got through to the final by winning against Alun and Rhys.
Monday 12th September. Pairs Final played tonight. The match was in doubt for a while because of an injury to Ann's hand but she was determined to play. It was a close match right to the end with Anthony controlling the head with a good performance as first man and Ann supporting him well while Clive had a poor game leaving "Skip" Gary a lot to do. It went to the last end with Anthony and Ann winning.
Saturday 17th September. A nice sunny morning to finish the season and what a morning it turned out to be. 2 full rinks enjoying a game of bowls all in good spirit as has been the case all season. There was a magnificent buffet in the clubhouse after our session which prompted me to say, "I thought the "Bake-off" had gone to Chanel 4 not Treherbert Bowls Club", I also commented on the progress the club is making with regards to community involvement which will continue next season. "It has been a pleasure to have been witness to the happiness enjoyed by everyone, being together throughout the bowling season".
