April 2023 Newsletter
Saturday 1st April. First session of the new month. Full clubhouse. We wished Rhys a Happy Birthday for next Wednesday.
Tuesday 4th April Another great session, everyone in high spirits. A lot of activity with the gardeners, they told us they were going to seed, top-dress and fertilize, the green is looking FAB.
Friday 7th April. Everyone played well and enjoyed each others company.
Saturday 8th April. Last session of the winter season. Another full clubhouse, great atmosphere.
SUMMARY OF THE SEASON
Since the start of the winter season, there has been many changes inside and outside the club. The club has now been fully re-furbished inside and fully insulated and cladded outside. With the green now fully recovered from the Leather-jacket infestation, it is now looking fantastic. Our thanks go to the parks department for their hard work.
We had a full membership who fully used the number of sessions available per week which was 30 at the start of the season. We did a trial during the last month of increasing the capacity from 10 at each session to 12 and it worked very well. With this in mind, next winter we will be able to increase the membership capacity from 30 to 36. This will help us meet increasing demand for membership.
I would like to thank all our members for making the winter season such an enjoyable experience. The fun and laughter, the companionship, everyone supporting each other and the wonderful parties, we have had everything we could wish for.
I would like to thank Chris for everything (too many things to list) that she does for us all at the club. During our last week, for providing us with a lovely buffet at every session, well done Chris.
I would like to thank Sam our Chairman, for supporting me and us all in making our club a pleasure to be part of.
The club now has first class facilities and a membership I am proud to be part of.
Thank you, looking forward to the summer season
