TREHERBERT BOWLS CLUB
REVIEW OF 2022
INTRODUCTION
We began the year with the pandemic and the restrictions that still applied, wearing masks etc.
In March, the government introduced level zero, no mandatory masks etc. and gradually, normality was restored.
THE SPORT
WINTER SEASON.
The winter season continued with full sessions.
We limited the number of members to meet the capacity of the sessions.
We continued the Autism Centre Group sessions.
SUMMER SEASON
We were able to start the season outside with no restriction on numbers.
The Autism Centre Group were able to enjoy outdoor activity for the first time.
The schools’ sessions were back to normal.
Phil Williams (wheelchair user) played bowls for the first time.
We entertained Maryfeild Bowls Club (from Scotland) to a friendly match.
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CLUB
New floors, security system, new heaters, new doors, new basin taps, new toilets, new kitchen, re-decorating the entire club, new roof and cladding of out-side walls.
CELEBRATIONS
End of Winter Season presentation buffet. Jubilee Day, end of Summer Season Dinner and Christmas Party.
MOMENTS WE REMEMBER
£500 to Ty Ross Care home
Commissioning 3 items of equipment for Treherbert Park. (Installation, early next year).
PEOPLE WHO MAKE IT HAPPEN
It has been a very busy year and I would like to express my appreciation to Sam Morgan our chairman and Chris Sheridan for their assistance in organizing the running of the club and all our members for the way they pull together to make every session enjoyable.
FINALLY.
I would like to thank everyone who visited Treherbert Bowls Club this year, I hope you enjoyed your time with us.
THANK YOU, ALL FOR MAKING TREHERBERT BOWLS CLUB A PLEASURE TO BE INVOLVED WITH.
Clive Sheridan Secretary/Treasurer
