December 2018 News Letter
Tuesday 4th December. Good turnout on a wet day. We have always believed David Evans was our oldest member at 87 years of age but during our refreshments at the end of the session, Clive told us he had discovered that it is actually Len Pierce, who was 88 on June 26th. Everyone was shocked to hear this because anyone who sees Len would never, ever imagine that he is that age. You look great Len.
Wednesday 12th December. We held our Christmas dinner at the Windsor Hotel. A good turnout of 30 plus, enjoyed a lovely meal, good company, plenty of laughing and conversation. Our thanks go to all those involved in organizing the transport, the meal and the raffle.
Friday 14th December. Good turnout on a cold morning, plenty of reminiscing of our dinner evening.
Tuesday 18th December. Last session before Christmas break. Noisy clubhouse, plenty of laughing and chatting, great. Club members provided a lovely buffet for our normal social gathering after the activities, Clive thanked all those involved in organizing our Christmas dinner, great job. Clive also acknowledged the good work that Chris does for the benefit of all of us, thank you Chris. He presented her with a centenary medal. We then had a quiz which was enjoyed by all.
Friday 28th December. Back from the Christmas break, everyone has a tale to tell. We heard that Jan Dunford has not been well this week, we all wish Jan well.
Saturday 29th December. Nice session today, everyone getting back in the swing. Had a telephone conversation with Phil Dunford last night. He had taken Jan to A&E and they decided to keep Jan in overnight and will decide today when she can come home.
This is our last session of 2018, we will meet again next year 2019 which will be next Friday 4th January.
The Rhondda Rotary Christmas Prize Draw results are now pinned up on the notice board in the clubhouse.
WE WISH ALL OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND ANYONE READING THIS NEWSLETTER, A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
