Saturday 15th April. First day of the new season, it's cold but sunny and a good turnout by our members. It was nice to see Gemma and her family visit all the way from Bath and little Riley who is now 11 months old.
During our tea and coffee after playing, I informed the members of what had been happening since the close of last season, meetings, funding news and a new project for the winter. I think we ought to mention Phil Watts' first bowl of the season, right on the Jack, keep it up Phil.
Monday 17th April. We didn't know what to expect tonight, being a Bank Holiday, it wan't raining, it was a lovely evening, also we didn't expect many to turn up but we were wrong there as well, it was a good turnout.
As usual, we can see the difference in our junior members by how they have grown since last season. The introduction of games in the clubhouse is already proving to be popular.

Saturday 22nd April. First full week of the season complete and it's been a great start, no rain, busy every session. We are now members of both County and WBA Associations. We wished Keith a fond farewell as he goes off to sail his boat. Good news for Cian who will be leaving us in July to go to Canada for 6 weeks with the Army.
Monday 24th April. The Monday League got underway today, we were away to Gelligaled. Although we lost the match on both rinks, it was an enjoyable afternoon.
In the evening the weather looked a little unsettled but the Junior Club went ahead as normal and although a little cold, the evening ended up sunny, we had some juniors taking taster sessions and enjoyed a game in the pavilion to end the session.
Tuesday 24th April. First school session of the season with Penyrenglyn today. Started off well in sunshine, 10 minutes later, Hailstones. we all went back in the clubhouse and played games. The children loved it.

David has only just come out of hospital and Meriel Gough (Community Coordinator Rhondda Valleys) referred him to us, both enjoyed their visit.
As for the bowls, some good bowling today, Sylvia was back in good form following her knee operation last season.
