Monday 1st March. St David's Day and what a lovely day it is. Photo in the gallery supplied by Chris Stewart's daughter Lyndsey.
Friday 5th March. We received the dates for the summer season.
17th April to 19th September. (Subject to government guidelines)
Friday 12th March. Following on from the Welsh Government update today, we can say that the winter season is now over. We will now prepare for the summer season which the indications are, that outside sport will be allowed. We will have to wait for the guidelines and when we have that information, will be able to contact everyone to see who wants to register for membership and organise booking etc.
This morning I had the sad news that Terry Clatworthy has passed away. Terry was our previous club secretary and a loyal member of the club for many years. I appreciate the assistance Terry gave to me when I became secretary. On behalf of Treherbert Bowls Club, I will send our condolences to his wife Ros and all the family. Rest In Peace Terry
Friday 19th March. Nationwide, people are putting yellow ribbons on trees etc., representing those who have passed away with the Coronavirus. We have adopted this and there are now yellow ribbons on the rose bushes opposite the clubhouse bearing the names of our members who the virus took from us. Photo at top of page.
Tuesday 30th March. Lovely day. We are anxiously awaiting Friday's WG update. We should know then how we can start our summer season.
We had this text message today from Margaret Green which she asked us to pass on via our website :-
"You can now recycle empty pill packets in Kirsty Flower Shop in Treorchy. They are collecting them for Velindre"
