August 2019 Newsletter
Saturday 17th August. Chris and I returned from our break in Tenby. We welcomed Ann Baldwin all the way from Australia and Sharon O'Keefe from England. We also welcomed Kevan back for another visit before he leaves to work abroad but he does promise to come back again when he can.
Clive thanked Carole and the members for looking after the club in our absence.
Good news about Cian Adams who achieved the results he needed in his recent exams and is shortly leaving us for Sandhurst. All our best wishes Cian.
We were pleased to hear that David Havard has had his last Chemotherapy. Well done David.
Clive gave an update on the winter season preparations, more details to follow.
Monday 19th August. Our Monday team played top of the league Gilfach Goch today and lost in the two rinks and hence the match, well done Gilfach.
Tuesday 20th August. We took delivery of the fenders today, rest of the short mat equipment to follow.
Clive informed the members present of the arrangements for the winter season.
Tuesday 27th August. Good session today, Bill will be having his Cataract operation on Thursday. all our best wishes Bill, see you soon. Good junior club session in the evening.
Friday 30th August. Busy junior club Susan Anderson helped us tonight.Thank you Susan.
Saturday 31st August. Rainy morning, Scott Emanuel came to talk about his Facebook page "Treherbert Board of Tourism", and how he could involve our club and flower sites within it. He brought his son Archie along with him and they had an enjoyable visit.
