March 2023 Newsletter
Wednesday 1st March St David's Day. It will be 2 years in June since we formed a partnership with the Autism Center to provide sessions once a week for their Group. Indoor sessions during the winter and a combination of indoor and outdoor in the summer. We started not knowing how we could make the sessions enjoyable. We used some of the equipment we already had from our junior membership which worked well. We have since invested to provide equipment and games to improve their enjoyment. The photo at the top of the page shows our newest acquisition, a magnetic construction table activity and for the first time of use, how good is that?.
These sessions have been a joy and a pleasure for the group participants and ourselves and will continue for the foreseeable future.
Friday 3rd March. Our first session where we have increased the number of players to 12 worked well. We did this today on a trial basis and will do it again for tomorrows session. We are hoping that the trials will give us the confidence to increase our winter membership next season to 36
Saturday 4th March. Another successful session of 12 players. This has given us confidence to continue to book 12 players per session for the remainder of this winter season and probably the next winter season. This would mean we will have 36 slots available per week, which means our membership will be a maximum of 36.
Tuesday 7th March. Once again, the sessions for this week are fully booked. Another entertaining session today, it really is a pleasure to be involved. Everyone attends the club to enjoy themselves and they certainly do that.
Tuesday 21st March. Chris and I went away for a short break last week so there were no bowls sessions, but today was like the first day back to school after the long holiday. There was so much chatter and laughter and catching up to do, it was beginning to look like we'd never get started. The atmosphere in the club was incredible. We welcomed Len Pearce back after his operation. Alun Clemas is in hospital for Tests and everyone wishes him well.
Friday 24th March. Alun Clemas is home from hospital and is getting better. We sang Happpy Birthday to Lauren.
Saturday 25th March. Every session, including today's feels like a party day.
Tuesday 28th March, Just 2 weeks left of the winter season.
Friday 31st March. Every session is like a Carnival, lots of laughter, cheering and everyone supporting each other.
