January 2023 Newsletter.
Tuesday 3rd January. First session of the new year, everyone looking forward to the rest of the winter season.
Thursday 5th January. Autism Centre session went well.
Friday 6th January, A great session, everyone in good spirits. Everyone playing well.
Saturday 7th January. Full clubhouse, good bowling, great atmosphere, can't ask for more than this.
Tuesday 10th January. We welcomed Maureen Price back after her recent illness. Highlight of this session was Brenda scoring the maximum 3 points. Well done Brenda. Great session followed by an entertaining quiz
Thursday 12th January. We are playing a session today to allow members to attend the funeral of Chris Stewart's husband Jim tomorrow.
Friday 13th January. Our thoughts today are with Chris Stewart and her family.
Saturday 14th January. Another enjoyable session. Susan Anderson is taking a break next week and we hope she has a lovely time. We sang Happy Birthday for Jean Morgan who has her birthday on Monday.
Tuesday 17th January. A great session of quality bowling, well done everyone.
Friday 20th. Following the snowfall on Wednesday, we now have iced pavements and lanes but we still ended up with 9 people turning up. The clubhouse was nice and warm and we had a nice time playing bowls with Bingo and a Quiz to follow.. Len Pierce phoned me later to say he has "Tennis Elbow", very painful. He said "he has pain killers and if they work well, he might turn up next week and play left handed if he has to"
Tuesday 24th January. Excellent session. The contractors are putting the finishing touches to the cladding outside. We welcomed Susan Anderson back from her holiday.
Friday 27th January. We welcomed Alun, Pat and Lynne back after their short absences. Every session is a pleasure. The cladding of the club is now completed.
Saturday 28th January. We welcomed Len and Sue Jones back today. Great session of bowls rounded off with
refreshments, bingo and a quiz. All good fun.
Tuesday 31st January. Gwen's birthday, the choir heartily sang Happy Birthday, a good start to the session to another entertaining session.
