June 2022 Newsletter
Wednesday 1st June. Lovely session to start the new month, everyone talking about the party yesterday.
Thursday 2nd June. Nice summer evening. Maureen Duckett played her first game and did very well.
Friday 3rd June. Another great day of bowling, it's been a lovely Jubilee week so far.
Monday 6th June. A warm sunny evening enjoying bowling. Great.
They started installing the new doors today.
Tuesday 7th June. Remarkably, we got away with playing the morning session and then the afternoon school session with all the showers that were around us. They completed the installation of the new doors today and they look really good. Well pleased.
Thursday 9th June. We were fortunate with the weather this-morning for our session with the young people from the Autism Centre but had to call the evening session off due to the rain.
Friday 10th June. We welcomed Mal back following his successful eye operation. Alun Clemas is not with us this week as he is suffering with arthritis. Hope to see you back soon Alun.
Saturday 11th June. A good turn out and a lovely morning of social bowling.
Tuesday 14th June. We welcomed Alun Clemus back after his short illness last week. We are well into the season now and everyone has settled down, relaxing and enjoying their games. Elaine had a fantastic game today. Well done Elaine. Phil Williams is really playing well and on equal terms, could give anybody a game. Well done Phil.
Friday 18th June. It's been a good week, good sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, we welcomed Chris Morgan back last night from her break. Brenda missed today because she has a bad back. We hope you recover quickly.
Nice session of bowls this-morning and this-afternoon with Penpych school.
Tuesday 21st June. Another warm sunny day. We welcomed Diane Thomas back to the club today after a long absence due to illness. Another new member joined the club today, Shirley Bourne. Her taster session went well and she enjoyed it. The draw was made for the 2 Wood Competition. Penyrenglyn's session was good but we shortened because of the warm sun. I would like to thank all of our coaches for what they do to make the school sessions a success.
Friday 24th June. We welcomed Brenda back, fit again and Mary back from holiday. Shirley played her first game and enjoyed it. Penpych cancelled their session because of the threat of rain.
Saturday 25th June. Today we welcomed Steven from Exeter. He is visiting his mother-in-law who you may know as Handel Davies the undertaker's widow. He brought his bowls down with him and he enjoyed a few ends with us.
Monday 27th June. We started our 2-Wood Competition. Mike played Chris Morgan, Mike winning by 2 - 1 and Rose playing Clive, Rose winning 2 - 1.
Tuesday 28th June. We welcomed Susan back after her holiday last week in our morning session . Unfortunately, we had to cancel Penyrenglyn School session due to the forecasted bad weather. Len played Chris Sheridan in our 2-Wood Competition winning by 2 - 0.
