MONDAY 1st MAY. Our Monday team played Penygraig and both rinks ended very evenly matched with Penygraig winning the 2 rinks and the match. No play in the evening because of rain.
TUESDAY 2nd MAY. Beautiful day, warmest of the season so far. Busy morning session, Penyrenglyn School in the afternoon. We entertained 35 pupils today, the largest school class to date, we thank Rose for helping with the session.
WEDNESDAY 3rd MAY. We were pleased and proud C.C.F. CADET CIAN ADAMS visited us this evening in his uniform, (see photo in our gallery).
Cian is 16 years of age and has been a member of our Junior Club for a long time, he is loyal, helpful with the younger bowlers and also a very good bowler, a credit to our club. In July Cian will be leaving us for 6 weeks to go on an adventure tour to Canada with the British Army, he is the only Cadet from Wales selected for the tour. Well done Cian.
THURSDAY 4th MAY. Refurbishing day.
FRIDAY 5th MAY. Our Friday morning session highlighted the improvement in all our bowlers, well done. Another highlight of the day was David Evans joining our club and starting a bowling career at 85 years of age. You're very welcome, David.
SATURDAY 6th MAY. Nice day to finish the week, David bowled for the first time today and enjoyed himself.
MONDAY 8th MAY. Played our second league game of the season, away to Harlequins. We lost the 2 rinks in a close contested match.
TUESDAY 9th MAY. What a remarkable day, warm and sunny. The adult session was fantastic, good attendance, another new bowler Margaret, and David turned up in his new bowls shoes, great!!!!
The school session went well on the green and in the clubhouse after which turned into a land of song as it was Seren's 8th birthday and we all sang "Happy Birthday" with great gusto.
The evening session was very busy on and off the green.
FRIDAY 12th MAY. Lovely Friday morning session, David played his first rink game and he played well. Cian played his competition match in the evening at Penygraig against Iestyn and they both had a soaking, Iestyn won comfortably and we wish him well in the next round. Good evening session on the green and in the clubhouse.
SATURDAY 13th MAY. The sun came out for our session today, an entertaining match won by a mainly ladies team beating an all male team. Sam and Cian played some excellent shots in their skip roles.
TUESDAY 16th MAY. No play today because of the rain but on the plus side, the Council fertilized the green.
FRIDAY 19th MAY. Nice day for bowling, Morning and Evening sessions well attended.
MONDAY 22nd MAY. Summer has arrived and a we had a very busy day of bowling. The Monday league team gained their very first points of the season with a well earned draw on rink 1 while rink 2 suffered a heavy defeat. The evening session was busy.
TUESDAY 23rd MAY. It's a pleasure to be here every day, it doesn't get much better than this. More new bowlers this-morning, wonderful school session, new bowlers in the evening session, everyone is having a good time. The green is playing well.
FRIDAY 26th MAY. Rhys played his Junior County Singles Match against Thomas Simms of Gelli Park tonight. In a match that both players showed their skills, it was Thomas who won and we wish him well in the rest of the tournament.
This-mornings adult session was played in very warm conditions, we welcomed 2 new members Ken and Margaret.
SATURDAY 27th MAY. Today's session rained off, however the members spirit at this club is such that we still had a great time indoors.
MONDAY 29th MAY. Monday league team were away to Ynysybwl. A good competitive game ended 1 rink each with Ynysybwl winning overall.
TUESDAY 30th MAY. Another amazing day at the club. New members coming along every week and a special one today, Donald aged 87.
