October 2021 Newsletter
Friday 1st October, Len Pearce arrived at the club this morning with the news that he has been given the "All Clear". Great news Len.
Saturday 2nd October. Sam Morgan returned from his Summer Season with Pengelli and Darren returned after his Elvis weekend. We had a warm-up roll with the Wedge and Brenda had the highest score by scoring a ton with her last bowl. Well done Brenda.
We reminded ourselves that it's 4 years tomorrow since Kay Leyshon passed away.
Friday 8th October. Full clubhouse this morning. We welcomed Maureen Price and Mary Jones back.
Saturday 9th October. We heard today that Alun Clemas was taken into hospital last night with another stroke. We've all noticed how well he has been lately and he had a very good game of bowls yesterday morning. We are all wishing him well.
Friday 15th October. Back after a short break. We all sang Happy Birthday to Susan Anderson.
Saturday 16th October. Darren brought his grandfathers bowls with him today and he played well. Chris and I trialled a new target for this season today and think that it will be an exciting game to play. Bring it on.
Tuesday 19th October. Before the session started, Clive explained the circumstances surrounding Margaret Green's departure from the club. We had our first Bingo session of the winter season and next week we will start the new Target Competition.
Friday 22nd October. Good session today, everyone in good spirits. We played our second Bingo session and it looks like it will be popular. The winter season is now up and running and going very well.
Tuesday 26th October. Great session today. Our members had their first go at the new target competition and it looks like we're going to have a lot of fun. I also gave a provisional date for our Christmas dinner (members only) Tuesday December 14th. With our members numbers, we should have enough room to accommodate an artist for the evening entertainment. More details to follow later.
Alun Clemas is home from hospital. Jean Morgan is still recovering from her fall.
Saturday 30th October. This has been the first week of our new Target Competition, I hope everyone does well and enjoys the challenge
