May 2020 Newsletters
Saturday 2nd May. No further news of any of our members having symptoms of the Coronavirus. (No news is good news). We were please to hear that Josh was discharged from hospital on Tuesday and is doing well at home.
We are looking forward to seeing how the government will relax some of the restrictions in the near future.
Saturday 9th May. You will remember that we were planning to have our VE Day celebrations yesterday May the 8th at the club, but we celebrated it in our street with our neighbours as you may have and we hope you had a good time.
You will find some photographs in the 2020 Summer Season Gallery, if any of you want to add a photo send them to Chris.
Brian East gave me a call yesterday and, I'm pleased to tell you he is doing very well.
Friday 15th May. We wish Christine Stewart Many "Happy returns Of The Day", I'm thinking about the cake we're not going to have today, we missed out there Chris but there will be other times.
Saturday 23rd May. We hope everyone is keeping safe and well. We have noticed some relaxation of the rules regarding some sports in England i.e. golf and tennis. It seems likely that there will be further easing if the virus doesn't get worse.
When Wales take similar actions and it becomes possible perhaps to play bowls safely, we are ready to play.
Chris and I have been thinking it through, how we can play safely and socialize after. It will involve some changes and we will discuss everything with you at the right time.
We wish Rose Many Happy Returns Of The Day for next Tuesday.
Saturday 30th May. Hope you are all enjoying the nice weather, we were looking for anyone who has a birthday in June, we do know of some but not everyone so if you know of a birthday coming up, please let us know. We do know of someone who will be celebrating a special birthday on June 26th, Len Pearce will be 90. It's a pity we are not able to celebrate with him in the club but there are other ways if you wish to.
This week, Chris and I were invited by Meriel Gough (you've all met Meriel), to make a short video (20 seconds) celebrating Volunteers Week (June 1st to 7th), she also asked us if we could help her do a case study of someone in our club. On this occasion, we thought of Mike Lias. Meriel is going to send us a copy for my approval and I will share it with you when I can. Starting Monday, InterLink will be publishing the videos, I'm not sure where, it could be on the InterLink website Facebook or Twitter, if you find it, please share it with us.
We have been told in the media that Scotland is allowing bowls from next week, as you know, this is not happening in Wales yet but hopefully we will follow soon.
