May 2018 Newsletter

Tuesday 1st May.  We welcomed Len Pearce to our session today along with our regulars. The star today was Brenda who played brilliant. Well done Brenda.

Wednesday 3rd May.  Nice sunny evening, Junior club beginning to get busy.

 Friday 4th May.  A good session this morning. Marion had some coaching today and came through it with flying colours. Very busy junior club. GREAT FUN.

Saturday 5th May.  A very good turnout on a lovely warm, sunny day. We were please that David Morgan was able to play today after a nasty fall two weeks ago and Mike Lias celebrated his birthday. Happy Birthday Mike.

Monday 7th May.  Our Monday league team overcame Ystradfodwg on points after a sharing the rinks one each. 
​We welcomed Margaret Godwin back to our club for the first time since she lost her husband Ken. Nice to see you again Margaret. 

​Tuesday 8th May.  Very busy day with three sessions planned, adult session, well supported, Penyrenglyn School sent 26 pupils along for their bowls session and the junior club session in the evening very busy. Great day.

Thursday 10th May.  We thank Gary Culverhouse for preserving our "Domain".

Friday 11th May.  We welcomed Penpych Primary School today for their first session of the season. Unfortunately our evening session was called off due to the rain.

Monday 14th May  Keith Bond left us to live near the Lake district today, we wish him well.
Sam Morgan won his first match in the Mid-Glamorgan under 25's. 

Tuesday 15th May.  We welcomed David and Maggie to our morning session. We celebrated Christine Stewart's birthday today. Penyrenglyn school visited in the afternoon with 28 pupils and we finished the day with a busy evening session.

Monday 21st May.  Our Monday League team played Ynysybwl today. The result was one rink each with Ynysybwl winning on overall score. Len Pearce played his first game today and Phil Green won his rink playing skip for the first time. Well done Len and Phil. 

​Tuesday 22nd May.  Penyrenglyn school visited us today with 26 pupils.

​Saturday 26th May.  Some of our bowlers enjoyed going to see "Queen" in Cardiff last night and today we celebrated Rose's birthday. Happy Birthday Rose.

Wednesday 30th May.  Sam and Cian played their Pairs Match with Harlequins. The match went the distance with the Harlequins players narrowly winning. We welcomed Eddie and Jason to a taster session which they enjoyed.
