You did make it to the final main video though which I will link you in to when I receive it
Have a lovely evening.
With kind regards and best wishes,

Saturday 6th June. Hope everyone is keeping well. Most of you will now have seen the guidelines regarding the opening of the bowling green (see latest news), although we haven't had a date yet, we are trying to come to terms as to how it can be best organized at our club, but as you will have seen from the guidelines, the players have to organize themselves by following the instructions such as telephone booking, bringing sanitizer etc. We will draw up a to-do list which will help.
The main object is, of course, to make it safe. It's likely, that not everyone will want to play at this moment in time and that is completely understandable. We will all miss the social side of the session. We will announce how and when the sessions will be organized, with a flexible approach, depending on numbers, weather etc.
Saturday 13th June. Good news, Rose has a new grandson "Hunter" who weighed in at 7lb 11oz born on Thursday, congratulations Rose. (see photo in gallery)
Dean Hamilton phoned this week to tell us, he has had a mild stroke and to tell me, he couldn't play in the league team this season. I told him we wouldn't be playing league even if we could but then he called back and said he could manage social bowling. I hope we can do that before too long. Brian East is keeping up his good progress. We talked to Diane Jones this week, her husband Tony is beginning treatment in a couple of weeks. Our thoughts are with them both.
That's all for now.
Friday 19th June. Some of you will already have realised that bowls will be reopening soon. The first question will be, "When".
I have spoken to the parks department and they do not know at the moment "when". They will email me when they have that information, in the meantime, I will be busy doing preparations for us to play as soon as is practical and safe. If you have read the guidelines, you will know what you need to do, for those who do not have internet, I will talk to them on the phone. The booking system could be problematic but I will be trying to make it as fair as possible bearing in mind the limitations in numbers. Please keep checking the website for any news.
Saturday 20th June. All our best wishes to Brenda who celebrates her birthday today.
We are in the process of how we can restart bowling. It will involve all players bringing all the items required in the guidelines to the session. We think we have the sessions sorted i.e. times and days to begin with. We'll see how it goes and make changes as required. We have a booking system ready to use. It is now a matter of what the parks department come back with. We are hoping that we can reopen a week Monday the 29th June.
It is too early to make a decision on membership fees.
Tuesday 23rd June. As we are hoping to start bowls on Monday 29th June. Please read the following.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW / BRING EVERY TIME YOU COME TO BOWLS
Players must bring their own hand sanitiser and use throughout the session.
PPE is optional.
Players should bring any food or drink you may need with you. (No alcohol)
Hand towel for personal use
A cloth for cleaning your bowls
Players must take their own rubbish away with them as no bins will be provided.
Consider the weather conditions regarding what you wear/umbrella as the clubhouse is not open for shelter.
If you have any questions, i.e. are we able to play today? please contact us.
PLAY ARRANGMENTS
Booking is to be done on the phone or by text (only)
You can book 4 days prior to the week ahead. That means that you can book on Thursday between the hours of 10.00 am to 12 noon for one session in the following week. You can then phone or text between the hours of 5.00 till 6.00 pm on the same day (Thursday) to see if there are any vacant sessions for you to book a second session. No one is allowed more than 2 sessions in any one week.
When booking for the first time, you will need to tell us what bowls you want to use so that we can have them ready for you when you arrive. Please do not arrive earlier than 15 minutes before the session is due to start.
No one can book a session for anyone else.
These arrangements are necessary as only 6 players are allowed on the club premises at any session.
Capping the number of occasions a player can book a session each week, is to ensure that the available capacity is distributed fairly.
The number of sessions per week will be revised depending on demand.
Only the players booked for the session are allowed in the green.
We have to start in a way which is manageable and safe, everything that we organize at the club will be reviewed regularly.
THE SESSIONS
Due to the present situation, we need to change the normal summer sessions. We are going to start as we will now outline, but I would stress that this is intended to be a starting point and will be looked at every week. If there is a demand that means we need more sessions, then we will put on more sessions.
SESSIONS IN THE FIRST WEEK
Monday afternoon 2.00 till 3.00 pm
Tuesday Morning 11.30 till 12.30
Wednesday evening 5.00 till 6.00 pm
Thursday No sessions. Booking day
Friday morning 11.30 till 12.30
Saturday morning 11.30 till 12.30
Thursday 25th June. We have had an indication that we can start the summer season from next Monday 29th. (Confirmation to follow).
Len Pearce will be celebrating his 90th birthday tomorrow and we are sending him our congratulations and we are all looking forward to seeing Len on the bowling green. The booking system worked well this morning and we are confident that if we all follow the guidelines the season will be a success. Our local authority has said they will not be charging us for their services this summer and we appreciate this decision.
Friday 26th June. I will be phoning our members today to check that everyone understands the guidelines. If you do, you will know that you cannot turn up at the gate expecting to play unless you have booked for the session and you will not be able to play or enter the green. I hope this will avoid any misunderstanding.
Maureen and Tony will be celebrating their Golden anniversary tomorrow 27th June and we all send them our Congratulations.
Saturday 27th June. We were pleased to hear David Evans on the Owen Money show this morning. Of course, we haven't been able to visit David during the lockdown. He gave a great rendition of The song "Lucky Old Sun", happy and full of confidence. We can only look forward to visit when possible.
Chris and I have been down the club today putting the finishing touches so that we are ready to start the sessions next week safely. It is now a case of us all following the guidelines. We all know it will not be like it used to be for a while but I'm sure, with the usual spirit of fun and enjoyment, we will have a good season.
Monday 29th June. We had our first session of the delayed summer season today and it was a 100% success. The weather allowed us to play and the 6 players followed the distancing guidelines to the letter. The players were asked at the end of the session as to how safe and confident they felt throughout the session and the feedback suggested they felt safer at the club than in the shops or walking the high street. I am satisfied that we can continue our program of sessions safely. There are some photos in the gallery (2020 Summer Season) showing the players in action displaying social distancing.
Thank you to all our players.
Tuesday 30th June. Our second session of the season went ahead under the cloudy skies The quality of bowling was very high considering it was the players first session. The players were asked at the end of the session, how safe and confident they felt throughout the session and the answers were positive.
