June 2018 Newsletter
Friday 1st June. Good news for our junior bowlers, Morgan, Emily and Gareth have a new baby sister Isabel.
Saturday 2nd June. A nice sunny day with a good turnout. We welcomed Declan Malloy for a taster session and boy, how well he played. Well done Declan. Rhian visited today, nice to see you again Rhian and Johnnie Collins dropped by.
Monday 4th June. Treherbert Bowling club played Gelligalad in the Monday league today. Gelligalad won two rinks to nil. Dean Hamilton made his debut as a skip today, well done Dean.
Congratulations to Susan on the birth of her new grandson.
Wednesday 6th June. Josh Maclean had a taster session today and what a natural bowler.
Thursday 7th June. Lauren and Ruby, Cai, Jack and Logan all had taster sessions today. we also had a medal night with Jenson winning a very close contest. Iestyn's father Chris joined us for our usual end of session card game.
Friday 8th June. We welcomed Christine for a taster session this morning which she enjoyed very much. Gareth and Graham, Kian and Logan had taster sessions at our evening session. You are all very welcome.
Saturday 9th June. Lovely day. We welcomed Christine Starr (as we (know her), on a visit from New Zealand. Nice to see you again Chris.
Monday 11th June. Our Monday league team played away to Penygraig, Penygraig won both rinks and were worthy winners. Very busy evening session.
Tuesday 12th June. Radio Wales is following Beverly Griffiths who has recently retired and is looking for an activity she can take up and enjoy, she joined us at the club today together with the Radio Wales presenter Cat and sound-man Mark. The recording is expected to be broadcast on Radio Wales during, the Wynne Evans show on Friday, between 11.00 and 1.00 pm.
Wednesday 13th. Rhianna had a taster session with her grandmother Christine. Clive and Mike attended and passed a First Aid course today. Well done Clive and Mike.
Thursday 14th June. Pleased to see len Pearce back home after a short stay in hospital. We all wish him a speedy recovery.
Friday 15th June. We all enjoyed listening to Bev's taster session with our club on BBC Radio Wales Wynne Evans show.
Our members were pleased to hear that Len is home from hospital and recovering well.
Monday 18th June. Our Monday League team played at home to Pontyclun today. Pontyclun won the match overall by winning one rink and drawing the other.
Friday 22nd June. Len Pearce is recovering well after his Pacemaker operation. Alun Clemas is having tests regarding his skin condition and we all wish him well.
Penpych Primary School had their bowls session on a very hot afternoon.
Monday 25th June. Our Monday team were away to Beddau today, Beddau won the 2 rinks and therefore the match. Alun Howells Rink played well, losing on the last end. As usual, Beddau players were a very sporting team to play.
Tuesday 26th June. Good turnout on a very hot morning. Highlight of the day, Marion scoring with 2 shots. Well done Marion.
Len Pearce returned to the fold following his recent opp operation. Welcome back Len.
Friday 29th June. Scorching day. Big turnout for the adult session today, Alun Clemas turned up which was great. 27 Penpych pupils attended the school session and a good turnout in the evening rounded off a very busy day.
